The vaulted space is full of natural light and Claire and her husband, Lavi Daniel, have chosen to infuse their love of art and fashion together in her new store, showcasing her beautifully tailored pajamas and loungewear on unique mid-century modern furniture pieces by Alvar Aldo and George Nelson. The boutique sits right in the heart of the West 3rd Street shopping district, a growing, vibrant area of Hollywood that is currently expanding and has amazing plans for beautification and revitalization. Renee Claire’s use of high quality cotton sateens, detailed piping, and her eye for prints has made BedHead an industry standard for couture loungewear. This, along with the fact that all Bedhead Pajamas are made right here in downtown Los Angeles, culminates into Renee Claire being a true Angeleno who has a vested interest in seeing the West 3rd shopping district grow and thrive.
The BedHead store has plans to continually work with Los Angeles based artists to display their pieces in the front window or in the retail space, showcasing local talent. BedHead will tentatively be working with four artists a year to display window features and create limited edition pajamas to go with the artists’ work. On the walls hang three photographs by Grant Mudford, displaying BedHead’s rich textiles and amazing color stories for Spring 2010. Another feature unique to the store is a beautiful outdoor patio with plants that highlight this season’s vibrant pajamas colors, complete with rich mosaic flagstone tiles and drought-resistant Australian plants. There is also a bespoke, made to order bed displayed in the store by furniture designer, David Albert and Lavi Daniel that can be custom made to customer specifications that features Renee Claire’s bedding collection, Renee Claire Home, available exclusively in-store.
